wherever you are

truth of the scars
and the darkness of your faith
Angel sauntered into the bar, his thigh length black leather
jacket barely
making a whisper as he moved through the throng of people. His
gaze was
deep, dark, intense...almost black. It's what he exuded. Dark.
Black.
Death. Danger. Sex. His aura was a siren to every woman in
the sultry
club. Heat emanated from him in waves, though he was ice to the
touch.
She was seated at the bar, as usual. He knew she'd come.
Couldn't stay
away. He could drown himself in her depths, lose himself in her
eyes. Most
importantly, he could forget.
Or so he told himself.
He stepped up to the counter without a sound, nodding to the
tender for his
usual. Always the same when he was with her. Kate. The name
reverberated
through his mind.
Her smile was easy as she turned to him, her blonde hair falling
into her
eyes. He knew he was smiling back at her, returning the favor.
Always
returning the favor. She nodded to the seat next to her,
mindless of the
predatory gleam in his eyes as he accepted.
slowly move on
how did we get to here
it all went wrong
gravity claiming all your tears
Her eyes stared up at the ceiling,
empty...cold...unseeing...dead. The room
was hot with sex though it was close to midnight and December.
Midnight in
December. Wasn't there something about that...? Her nails dug
into his
back as she blindy accepted the intrusion to her body.
Dull. Ache. Make the pain go away. Her body moved under his
of its own
volition, seeking its own release. Her hands slid over the
muscles in his
back, slimy to the touch. Slimy? Sweat. The sound of his body
pounding
into hers, his moans and groans and grunts, echoed in the dark
room. His
name...?
She could see the light of a streetlamp through the closed
blinds on the
window. Light...how long had it been since she'd seen the
light? Dust
swirled through the air, reminding her of where she was.
With a shout, he came inside of her, spilling his hot, sticky
seed all over
her. As he rolled off of her, she closed her legs. He lit up a
cigarette
and sat on the side of his matress, which was lying on the
floor. Silence.
Death. Silent cries? He stood up, mindless of his nudity, and
announced he
was going to take a shower if she wanted to join him.
Buffy remained on the dirty "bed". Her eyes stared up at the
ceiling.
Wide...unblinking...unseeing...dead.
everything looks
so much better now
Angel closed the passenger car door, sealing Kate in tight.

Angel stepped from the bed and her sleeping body, silently
moving to the
bathroom. He turned on the water as hot as he could. Could it
scald his
flesh? Would the hot water melt his icy skin? He let the water
run over
him, watching as the tiny rivulets moved over his skin.
Nothing happened.

He walked into the Angency, throwing a smile Cordelia and
Doyle's way.
Whistling softly, he stepped into his office and closed the
door. The only
sound in the room was the quiet "whoosh" as he settled into his
cushy black
leather chair. Client files were stacked on his desk. The
phone was
ringing. His desk calender had appointments scribbled in red
filling every
available space.
He sat.
turn out the light switch
we've been awake for days
and no one's coming round
here no more
She walked alone through the quad. It was overcast and the wind
blew
briskly through her long blonde hair. She clasped her books to
her chest
and stood still in the middle of the grounds.
People walked by, oblivious. They wore their bright winter
outfits, their
white smiles beaming, their trite voices singing out in the dim
light of the
afternoon. Laughter rang out through the air and they passed
her by,
oblivious.
She stood and watched the people. Friends. Her friends.
Nowhere to be
seen. Friends.

Her tires squealed on the pavement as she rounded the bend. All
night.
Driving. Searching. It would all come to an end soon. Black.
Everything
seemed black when you didn't care...weren't looking. Black was
soothing.
It seeped in without warning. It tore you apart. Black. Like
the night.
The night He belonged to.

Rain. Rain was good. Tempestous. Stormy. Lightning was good
too. He
smiled as Kate lounged on the bed, her arms curling around the
pillows. She
turned her head to watch the rain. His movements were stealthy
and graceful
as he approached her. Graceful, almost catlike. Sleek.
Dangerous. Angel.
The muscles in his back danced and glistened in the dim candle
light. She
pulled him down with ease and they kissed. Long. Passionate.
Hot.
Dueling tongues. Tangled limbs.

Rain. The rain beat down, battering her body, though it could
not touch her
bruised heart. She heard the pattering sound as it hit the
window. So
soft. Lulling. Lying. Deceiving. Light glowed from the
inside, spilling
out to the sidewalk where she stood. Bodies. Heat. The room
emanated a
heat. Burning. Hell. Fire. Pain.
And still, the rain poured down upon her.

Buffy watched as Kate jumped up from the bed, clasping the sheet
around her.
His eyes. Dark. Intense. As always. Confusion. Loud.
Slayer. Bones.
Crunch. Snap. Blood. She smiled, tossing the woman across the
room.
Don't kill humans.
Don't kill humans.
Dont kill -
Crack. Blood. Pain. Fire. Hell. She watched emotionlessly
as the woman
slid down the wall, leaving a bloody trail. Her
eyes...wide...unblinking...unseeing...dead.

He held her arms behind her. Had he thought that would stop
her? She
kicked his feet out from under him, toppling them both to the
ground. Heat.
Hot. Wet. Blood.
She scratched him, drawing blood. He flung her back and heard
her land,
though he could not see her. As he stood, she ran forward,
ramming him into
the wall. Breaking a lamp. Shatter. Strong. Muscles. Soft.
Curves.
Emerald. Eyes. Life.
He punched her. She kneed him in the groin, dropping him to his
knees.
Backslap. His head flung back. Blood. On his lips.
